Course Description

This module unit is designed to provide you with knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for maintenance of the specified standards of cleanliness, comfort, hygiene and aesthetic value in any given catering and accommodation establishment.


At the end of this module unit, you should be able to:

a) Understand what is involved in housekeeping

b) Appreciate the values gained from good housekeeping practices

c) Understand the operation, care and maintenance of cleaning equipment

d) Operate the cleaning equipment

e) Acquire knowledge and skills in the selection of appropriate cleaning agents.

f) Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in different establishments through the application of appropriate cleaning methods and procedures
